Second terror attack within an hour in south Kashmir

Srinagar: A former sarpanch was shot dead by terrorists in Herpora area of Shopian district on Saturday day, police said. This is the second terror attack in south Kashmir within an hour.

Srinagar based news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) quoted officials as saying that Sheikh, a former sarpanch, was fired upon by the terrorists in Herpora area this evening.

He said that soon after the attack he was shifted to a nearby healthcare facility, where  he succumbed to injuries.

Hospital authorities confirmed to that Sheikh was brought dead to hospital.

Police and security forces have cordoned off the area to nab the attackers. Earlier, terrorists fired upon and injured a couple from Rajasthan’s Jaipur in Anantnag district.
