Students who couldn’t attend the school due to high temperature won’t be punished for attendance
Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, announced that the possibility of declaring summer vacations for schools in the region is not possible at the moment.
This decision is attributed to the prevailing weather conditions and other relevant factors.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized that any decision regarding summer vacations will be made based on the evolving weather conditions. He stated, “At present, the weather does not warrant an immediate summer vacation for schools. We are closely monitoring the situation and will make a decision in due course.”
The Divisional Commissioner further explained that the administration is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
He said that any student who couldn’t attend the school in present conditions will not be published for attendance.
The Divisional Commissioner assured that the administration will keep the public informed and make timely decisions in the best interest of students and educational institutions.
This announcement comes amidst concern over the impact of the prolonged dry spell and heatwave on the region, affecting not only daily life but also the agricultural and horticultural sectors in Kashmir. -(KS)
