Srinagar: In the past 24 hours, Jammu & Kashmir experienced light to moderate rain and snow in higher reaches, accompanied by heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and hail at isolated places. The forecast for the upcoming days is as follows:
- 29th April: Expect generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain/snow (light snow in higher reaches) at most places, with the possibility of heavy rain, thunder, lightning, hail, and gusty winds at isolated places, particularly in the Jammu & Kashmir Division.
- 30th April: Anticipate generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain and thunder at many places.
- 1st to 5th May: Generally dry weather is expected with occasional afternoon/evening thundershower activity at a few places.
Advisories:
- Farmers are advised to suspend farm operations until 30th April.
- There may be temporary disruptions in traffic over higher reaches like Zojila, Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road, Razdan Pass, etc.
- Waterlogging is possible in low-lying areas.
- There’s a risk of landslides and shooting stones.
- Expect a temporary increase in water levels in the Jehlum River, its tributaries, and other local streams and Nallas.
