Shopian, 19-Feb: Two Soldiers, One Militant killed in an encounter which was triggered early in the morning in Chermarg, Zainpora area of Shopian district.
On a specific input about the Militants, 1RR, CRPF and Police launched a Cordon and search operation in the area. As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the target spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer confirmed that a militant and two army troopers of 1RR were killed in a gunfight in Chermarg. However the identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained.
