Three militants were killed in a joint operation by the army, police, and CRPF in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

Local News Agency Kashmir Scroll quoted officials as saying that after a night-long anti-militancy operation at Samno village in Kulgam, three militants have been killed.

He said the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.

The officer, however, said that the operation in the area is still ongoing.

On Thursday evening, on receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the Samno village, an exchange of firing reported however the operation remained suspended that night, but today, after the first time, the firing from both sides was resumed.

News Agency Kashmir Scroll quoted source also as saying that the whole area has been sealed by a mixture of forces, and all the entry and exit points are closed.
