ANANTNAG: In a major action against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police, on Wednesday in coordination with the civil administration, demolished illegal properties belonging to drug peddlers worth crores along National Highway 44.
Officials said, the drive was carried out as part of the ongoing campaign against narcotics, targeting assets acquired through illegal drug trade.
The demolished structures were identified as properties raised through proceeds of drug peddling.
The joint operation by police and civil authorities was executed following due legal procedures, aimed at dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers in the district.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to continue strict action against drug peddlers and warned that anyone involved in narcotics trade will face stringent legal consequences, including attachment and demolition of illegally acquired assets.
The police have urged the public to cooperate and share information to help eradicate the drug menace from society. (KNC)
