Weather Outlook for Jammu Division
Higher reaches in Doda, Banihal, Bhaderwah, Kathua, and Ramban are expected to witness light to moderate snowfall, with accumulations reaching up to 6 inches. Meanwhile, the plains of Jammu may experience light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours.
Weather Impact in Kashmir Valley
Aadil Maqbool, an independent weather forecaster, predicts that the weather system will predominantly affect South Kashmir and the Pir Panjal Range, while its impact on Central and North Kashmir will remain minimal.
- South Kashmir (Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian): Light snowfall is expected, with chances ranging between 40-50%. Cloudy skies will dominate otherwise.
- Pulwama, Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal: Cloudy conditions will persist, with a 30% chance of snowfall.
- Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara: Snowfall chances are lower at 25%.
High Altitude Forecast
The higher reaches of Sinthan Top, Peer Ki Gali, Baltal, and Pahalgam may receive 4-10 inches of snow. Light snowfall is also predicted for popular tourist destinations like Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Doodhpathri during this period.
