SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir is bracing for a spell of mostly dry and extremely hot weather till 12th June, with a severe heatwave expected to affect most parts of the Union Territory.
According to the independent weather forecaster, the Kashmir plains may witness maximum temperatures reaching up to 35°C, while the Jammu plains are likely to experience scorching heat, with daytime temperatures climbing as high as 46-47°C.
Public Health Advisory:
To stay safe during the heatwave, residents are advised to follow these precautions:
- 1. Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water and fluids rich in electrolytes.
- 2. Avoid Peak Hours – Limit outdoor activity between 11 AM to 3 PM, the hottest part of the day.
- 3. Dress Smart – Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and protect yourself with a hat or umbrella.
- 4. Stay Cool – Use cool showers or baths to bring body temperature down.
