SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather advisory forecasting light to moderate rain and thundershowers across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir on May 30 and 31. According to the forecast, a few areas may experience heavy rainfall accompanied by intense showers and gusty winds.
Between June 1 and 2, a brief spell of light rain or thundershowers is likely at isolated locations. From June 4 to 6, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, though brief showers towards the late afternoon may occur in isolated areas.
The MET Centre has also issued an advisory warning of possible moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds at scattered places on May 30 and 31. There is a risk of landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas, and isolated flash floods cannot be ruled out due to intense showers.
Residents have been advised to stay clear of loose structures, electric poles, cables, and old trees during this period.
