SRINAGAR: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has issued a detailed centralised notice, inviting online applications for 312 posts under various isolated categories across zonal railways and production units. Applications open December 30, 2025 and close January 29, 2026, with candidates required to apply only through the official RRB websites.
The recruitment drive covers a mix of technical, legal and administrative posts, the largest being 202 vacancies for Junior Translator (Hindi). Other posts include 39 Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist and Metallurgist), 24 Staff and Welfare Inspector, 22 Chief Law Assistant, 15 Senior Publicity Inspector, 7 Public Prosecutor, 2 Scientific Assistant (Training), and 1 Scientific Supervisor (Ergonomics and Training). Vacancies are distributed RRB and zone wise; detailed vacancy tables and post parameters are available on the official website.
Prospective candidates must submit a single online application to the RRB of their choice; the selection of RRB is final and multiple applications or applications to more than one RRB will result in rejection and debarment. The recruitment process will include a computer based test (CBT), translation test where applicable, document verification and medical examination. The CBT may be single stage or multi stage, will carry negative marking (one third mark deducted for each wrong answer) and e-call letters and city/date intimations will be issued through RRB portals.
Application fee for general candidates is Rs 500, of which a refundable portion (Rs 400) will be refunded to those who appear in the first stage CBT; concessionary fee of Rs 250 applies to PwBD, female, transgender, ex-servicemen, SC/ST, minority and economically backward class applicants, with refund rules similar. Fee payment is online only; candidates must ensure correct bank details for any refund. Scribe registration windows, modification windows and other key timelines are listed in the notice and must be observed strictly.
Eligibility conditions include prescribed educational qualifications, age limits reckoned as on January 1, 2026, and medical standards specific to each post. Candidates awaiting final results declared after the closing date are not eligible. Important cautions in the notice emphasise that candidature is provisional until documents are verified at DV and that false or suppressed information will lead to cancellation and possible lifetime debarment.
RRBs have warned against malpractice and impersonation, which attract stringent penalties including legal prosecution and permanent debarment. Candidates are advised to read the full CEN, study the post parameters and annexures carefully, authenticate identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar where possible, and retain their login credentials for the entire process. Helpline details and the list of RRB websites appear in the notice for queries and updates.
