Shopian, 26-Feb: People of Thairen area of Shopian district are facing flood-like situation, people in the area were angry with the administration. Due to the recent snowfall, flood-like situation in the Thairen area has caused a lot of problems for the people. People expressed anger against the administration.
Locals said, “We are very worried about the flood-like situation. We have talked to the officials of the district administration several times and informed them of the difficulties we are facing, but the officials of the administration have not paid any attention. The officers told us that in a short time we would come with our entire team to visit your area, but that time has not yet come.”
In this regard, when we tried to talk to the concerned officer(AEE Irrigation), he said that the heavy snowfall of 23 and 24 feb. breached major kanal of singulu that caused increase in the levels of water in the areas of chachwada , tharun and zanbutto. AEE also said that timely action of our dept. minimised the risk of further damage and said that the dept cleared all the enchorments near the canal and rectified the breaches in those areas, peoples of the area also request to be patient.
Residents of Thairen Shopian are upset with the flood-like situation, dissatisfied with the administration.
