JAMMU: Havildar Mohd Iqbal of 28 Assam Rifles lost his life in the line of duty after a suspected IED blast near Khopanala, Shukhovi in Chümoukedima district on Sunday.

The Assam Rifles paid a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldier. Director General Lt. Gen. Vikas Lakhera and all ranks expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family, honouring his supreme sacrifice.

Four other Assam Rifles personnel were also injured in the blast.

Havildar Iqbal was a resident of Kallar in the Mendhar area of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir.
