Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana and other concerned officers today visited Hermain, a remote village where a Mission Youth Engagement Programme was conducted under his Chairmanship.
Mission Youth an ambitious initiative aimed to provide a vibrant medium for youth engagement and empowerment in J&K.
The outreach programme as well as public interaction session attended by large gatherings of local Youth and from adjacent areas focused largely on addressing and having on spot appraisal of issues, grievances/problems being faced by them.
While giving patient hearing to Youths apart from listening to the issues, the DC said that the mission and strategy is to facilitate youth to become ambassadors of peace, prospand socio-economic growth through systematic interventions.
Sachin added that mission will focus on all youth and has two related aims: to effectively support and encourage youth in fullfilling their potential and aspirations while addressing their needs and concerns and to effectively support youth to shape their future as per their aspirations.
Sachin emphasised the youth to come forward and avail of the benefits of the schemes so that they can get rid of evil deeds like drugs etc.
DC on spot ordered redressal of some issues particularly Playing field at Hermain.
Regarding other issues of vital importance like Degree College for Herma, in this regard the DC assured the Youth that matter will be raised before the higher Ups, keeping in view that this will facilitate the youth of the village and ease their journey and save their precious time.
The DC further said that such youth outreach session will also be held in other far flung areas of the district as such programme provide ample opportunity to the Administration to have on spot appraisal and status of grievances/problems, the population of these areas are going through.
He said our aim and objective is to address most of the issues on the spot, avoiding unnecessary prolonging the stress on redressal of grievances.
