BUDGAM: A truck driver was injured after receiving an electric shock when his vehicle came into contact with a high-tension power line in the Sonpah area of Berwah, officials said on Sunday.
The injured driver was initially taken to Sub-District Hospital Berwah, from where he was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced medical treatment. Hospital sources said the condition of the injured person is being monitored.
Reports said that incident occurred when the truck he was driving accidentally touched an overhead high-tension wire at Sonpah Berwah, resulting in electrocution and injuries.
The injured has been identified as Feroz Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Majeed Lone, a native of Bogam Kulgam, aged about 48 years.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further details are awaited. [KNT]
