AWANTIPORA: The Indian Army, under the aegis of its Chinar Corps, on Thursday organized a vibrant cultural festival titled “Jashn-e-Tral” at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, celebrating the rich cultural diversity and artistic heritage of the region.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Tral Rafiq Ahmad Naik, Sector-I Commander, Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, SSP Awantipora Sajad Ahmad, ADSP Awantipora Abdul Rashid, along with officials from 180 Battalion CRPF. A large gathering of students and local residents also participated, lending the festival an enthusiastic and festive spirit.
Artists from different parts of the Kashmir Valley mesmerized the audience with colorful performances featuring Hindi, Punjabi, and Kashmiri songs, traditional dances, and folk music. The performances highlighted the Valley’s rich cultural heritage and fostered an atmosphere of joy, unity, and mutual harmony.
The festival received widespread appreciation for promoting cultural harmony and offering a meaningful platform to local artists to showcase their talent. Such initiatives, participants noted, play a significant role in strengthening community bonds and encouraging artistic expression, especially among the youth.
“Jashn-e-Tral” stood as a testament to the power of culture in bringing communities together and reinforcing the values of peace, unity, and coexistence across the region.
