SRINAGAR: Shortly after Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge met with the National Conference leadership to explore a potential pre-poll alliance for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, it was announced that the parties would form a pre-poll alliance for all 90 assembly segments.

Addressing media at his Gupkar residence, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah said that they will issue a mandate list in a phased manner.

“Jammu and Kashmir have seen difficult times; now we are hopeful for the restoration of statehood. Both NC, Congress and CPI(M) will fight the elections together to defeat the divisive forces,” Abdullah said.

Regarding the alliance with PDP, he said that the doors are open to everyone.
