SRINAGAR: The Union Government has allocated Rs 41,000.07 crore to Jammu and Kashmir for the financial year 2025-26, as part of the Union Budget.

The new allocation is approximately Rs 1,000 crore less than the previous year’s budget.

In response to the budget allocation, Peoples Conference (PC) Chief and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone, took to X, and said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should seek the return of the lavish gifts he had given to BJP ministers, including shawls.

In a post on X Sajad Lone said: “The proposed allocation to J and K in the Union Budget is approximately 41000 crores. It is approximately 1000 crore less than the previous allocation. When adjusted for inflation it is reduced by another 2 to 3000 crores.”

“I think CM sahib should also revise the cloudless weather commentary that he made in Sonmarg. On a serious note dear CM sahib —- Chief Ministerial duties go much beyond skiing and selfies. It is a serious and a pious business. Do what it takes to deliver. People have voted for a deliverer not a delivery boy.” -(KL)
