Shopian: The Jammu & Kashmir School Education Department has announced the restoration of the previous academic calendar, scheduling annual exams for November-December.
Key Details of the Order:
Restoration for Lower Grades: The revised academic calendar will apply immediately for students in classes 1 to 9 in the 2024-25 academic year, with exams scheduled for November and December 2024.
Transition for Higher Grades: Students in classes 10 to 12 will see a phased transition to the November-December session, starting from the 2025-26 academic year. However, for the 2024-25 academic year, the J&K Board of School Education aims to hold these examinations between February 15 and March 31, 2025.
Class 8 Exams by Schools: Starting from the 2024-25 session, class 8 annual assessments will be managed independently by individual schools.
This decision, issued under Government Order No. 468-JK(Edu) of 2024, reflects the administration’s focus on adjusting the academic schedule to better align with regional conditions and facilitate learning continuity across J&K.
