Tral: On the eve of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Departments of Punjabi, Physical Education and Functional English of GDC Tral organised a seminar on the theme “Gandhian Non Violent Resistance on Thursday.

The programme began with the introductory remarks delivered by Umandeep Kaur, Head, Department of Punjabi who also conducted the proceedings.

Prof.Mohd Syed Lone, Head, Department of Functional English while presenting the welcome address spoke briefly on the efficacy of non-violence in all spheres of life. Dr.Aban Parvaz Mullick , Lecturer, Functional English enlightened the audience about the need and importance of Gandhian thought in contemporary times.

The student presenters namely Basit Hameed, Tanzella Jan, Sukhjeet Kaur, Tazkeena Nasir,Tabasum Rafiq, Samia Zehra and Danish Bashir of various semesters spoke extensively on the subject theme.

The program was concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Head Department Physical Education, Mr. Umar Rashid Dar. In the Valedictory function, the participation certificates were distributed among the participants.

The program was attended by a large number of students besides a good number of faculty members.
