SRINAGAR: Weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir are expected to remain unsettled until Friday, with light spells of rain and snow likely to continue, according to an independent weather forecaster. A dry spell is anticipated to begin on Saturday and is expected to last until April 17.
Faizan Arif Keng, an independent meteorologist, stated that temperatures may drop further over the next 24 hours due to prevailing conditions. “There is a possibility of light precipitation in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir until Friday, after which a brief dry spell is expected,” he said.
The region will, however, see another spell of moderate precipitation as a Western Disturbance is forecast to affect Jammu and Kashmir from April 18 onward, he added.
According to meteorological data, Jammu and Kashmir has already experienced significant rainfall deficiency this season, with a 50 per cent deficit recorded between March 1 and April 9, 2025. -(KL)
