In a chilling turn of weather, Srinagar on Wednesday experienced the coldest night of the season at minus 2.0°C. The cold conditions have intensified across Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant drop in temperatures.

Local news agency Kashmir Scroll quoted MeT Official as saying that Srinagar faced a notable drop in temperature, reaching a low of minus 2°C on the latest night, in stark contrast to the previous night’s 0.7°C.

The official said that Qazigund witnessed a dip in temperatures, recording a minimum of minus 2.0°C compared to the previous night’s minus 1.6°C.

Pahalgam experienced a drop in temperatures, registering a low of minus 5.1°C compared to the previous night’s minus 4.3°C, he said.

Kokernag noted a decrease in temperatures, recording a minimum of minus 0.5°C in contrast to the previous night’s 0.2°C, he said.

Kupwara witnessed a decline in temperatures, marking a low of minus 2.7°C compared to the previous night’s minus 1.4°C, he said.

Gulmarg reported a consistent low, holding at minus 2.2°C, mirroring the temperatures from the previous night, he said.

Jammu experienced a slight decrease in temperatures, recording a minimum of 9.0°C compared to the previous night’s 9.9°C, he said.

Till 10th December, he said the weather will remain mainly dry. On 11th December, weather will remain generally cloudy, he said.
