Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the 6×50 metre trussed girded bridge at Sheikhpora Trenz to assess the progress of the project.
The Executive Engineer (ExEn) of Roads and Buildings (R&B) Zainapora informed the DC that the bridge is being funded by the World Bank and is expected to be completed by December 2024. The project, which aims to improve connectivity in the region, has been under construction for some time.
During the inspection, DC Dar reviewed the ongoing work and directed the R&B department to increase manpower and machinery to expedite the construction process. He emphasized the need to adhere to the project timeline, ensuring the bridge is completed on schedule to benefit the local community.
The DC reiterated the importance of timely completion of infrastructure projects for the region’s development and urged the concerned officials to resolve any challenges promptly.
