SRINAGAR: A massive blast damaged the house of a terror suspect in Moghama village of the Tral area of South Kashmir on Friday during a search operation launched by security forces, officials said.

Police officials stated that during the searches of Asif Sheikh, who is involved in the Pahalgam terrorist attack some suspicious objects were observed by the security forces.

“Sensing danger, security swiftly retracted for safety but there was a huge blast in which a house got badly damaged. It seems that some suspicious explosive material was present,” the official added.

Another official said that wires were protruding out of the box. “After confirmation by the Indian Army Engineers team it was destroyed in-situ resulting in an explosion. In the explosion the house was partially damaged. No loss of life was reported, as the area was cleared and neighboring houses were evacuated”, said the official. -(GK)
