The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz today inspected the record room and Jamabandi Digitization Centre Chitragam in the district.
During his inspection, ADC said that digitization is imperative for streamlining the revenue records and making revenue records easily accessible to the public through online based platforms.
The ADC said this during his inspection of the Revenue Record Room established at Village Chitragam Shopian. He reviewed the progress on implementation of the Land Records Modernization Programme.
On this occasion, a detailed resume of digitization programmes was given to the ADC including safe custody of revenue documents, data entry, and digitization of maps, Jamabandi and updation with latest mutation records.
While interacting with the officers, the ADC said that the comprehensive digitization would ensure better land record management that will enhance the district’s overall land record maintenance forever.
The ADC inspected the Land Records section and inquired about computerization and directed for its proper maintenance.
On Jamabandi, the ADC said that it is a challenging task and directed for keeping it properly up to date and well maintained and stressed upon officers and staff to complete the process of digitization of records in fixed timelines.
Among others,Tehsildar, Chitragam, Zahoor Majid Matoo, Naib Tehsildar, Girdawars, Patwaris and concerned officials of the revenue department were present.
Later on, ADC also visited Veterinary Centre and interacted with the public and officials on its functioning.
