SRINAGAR: Androosa, a small village in South Kashmir, is home to 20-year-old Lateef Rashid, a young and passionate artist who has been deeply connected to art since childhood. Fond of sketching and painting, Lateef began his creative journey by sketching everything that inspired him around.
“Sketching gives a different kind of pleasure, I can’t explain,” he says, describing the joy he finds in expressing himself through art.
Driven by big dreams and a strong desire to achieve something meaningful, Lateef describes himself as an optimist—friendly, brave, and highly creative. He believes in doing things differently and constantly pushes himself to give his best, not only for himself but also for his family and others around him.
“I always try to do something different that others don’t think of yet. I try to give my best, especially for myself, my family, and for others,” he adds.
Taking his creativity to new heights, Lateef has earned widespread appreciation for his artwork. His dedication and talent have been recognized through several awards and medals, encouraging him to move forward with greater confidence.
Behind his journey, Lateef credits his biggest source of strength—his mother. He says her constant encouragement and unconditional support have played a crucial role in shaping his dreams and outlook on life.
“There is a person behind me who supports me in every situation and motivates me to move ahead with optimism. The best part of my life is my mom. She is my idol, my mentor, my love. She understands me every single time. I am very fortunate to have a mom like her,” he said.
With passion in his heart and dreams in his eyes, Lateef Rashid continues to carve his own path in the world of art, inspiring many young aspirants from Kashmir to follow their creative dreams.
