PULWAMA: Sameer Shafi, a 19-year-old artist and student from Kadlabal, Pampore, is steadily carving a niche for himself through his dedication to art, academics, and cultural preservation.

Sameer began his creative journey in the 10th grade with calligraphy, building upon his long-standing passion for painting. Over the years, his consistent hard work and refinement of skills have earned him recognition at various platforms. Last year, he was awarded a gold medal at the District Police Lines, Pulwama, for his striking painting of freedom fighter Rani Lakshmi Bai, a moment that marked a major milestone in his artistic career.

Currently, Sameer is a first-year student at Amar Singh College, pursuing History (Honours)—a subject he describes as his favorite. Alongside his academic pursuits, he is also writing a book titled “The Kashmir Heritage,” reflecting his deep interest in history, culture, and archaeology. He proudly identifies himself as both an artist and an author, balancing studies with calligraphy and painting.

His talent has brought him several medals and certificates in college-level competitions, and he remains an active participant in art exhibitions. Notably, his artwork has been featured in six magazines published through social media platforms, further expanding his reach and recognition.

Recently, Sameer has also started offering customized artwork with online shipping, making his creations accessible to art lovers beyond the region. In addition to his artistic achievements, he is an NCC cadet and has earned multiple certificates through his participation in NCC activities, highlighting his discipline and commitment to service.

With dedication, discipline, and strong faith, Sameer Shafi aims to achieve greater heights. His ultimate dream is to become a successful lawyer, lecturer, and archaeologist, contributing meaningfully to society while preserving history and culture through his work.
