Srinagar: Various schools in different districts closed amid incessant rains and snowfall.
In a bid to ensure safety of the students and teachers alike, various district administrations have ordered for closure of educational institutions.
District administration Ramban on Saturday ordered for closure of all government and private schools for the day amid unrelenting rains.
Similarly, authorities have ordered for shutting down all educational institutions in Kishtwar district, and Gurez area in Bandipora district.
Moreover, Kupwara administration has ordered closure of all educational institutions in multiple high altitude areas in the remote north Kashmir district.
“In view of incessant rains/snowfall District Administration Kupwara has decided to close all the schools in Machil, Keran, Budnambal, Kumkadi, Jumagund and upper areas of Karnah till 17-03-2025,” reads a notification.
Notably, Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing widespread rains over last several days, with the MeT office having predicted the continuation of weather vagaries at least till tomorrow.
