UP / Srinagar: Uttar Pradesh Police arrested four individuals, including two residents of Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, for possessing currency and other ammunition.
Quoting UP police officer, news agency JKNS reported that Rs 2.35 crore of fake currency, a pistol, 41 cartridges, and a magazine were recovered from them.
The accused from Shopian were identified as Mukhtar Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Majeed Wani, of Hirpura, and Basarat Hameed, son of Abdul Hameed Wani, of Kutpora. The arrests were made during a routine check.
Authorities are investigating the source of the counterfeit notes and the purpose of the arms the officer said.
