The District Shopian Taekwondo Championships 2023-24 have concluded on a successful note. The event was conducted under the banner of “My Youth My Pride” and was meticulously organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Shopian, Under the Aegis of J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd), and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
The championship took place from December 13th to 14th, 2023, at the Batapora sports stadium,shopian.
The closing ceremony featured prominent personalities, including Ahtesham zahoor (president DSTA), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with incharge Batapora sports stadium Mohammad Iqbal & Abdul Hameed.
In his address, Mr. Ahtesham (President Taekwondo Association of District Shopian) extended his congratulations to all the medalists and participants for their active involvement in the championships.
He also praised the J&K Taekwondo Association for its dedicated efforts in enhancing the sport of Taekwondo in the Union Territory.
While talking players looked joyous and thanked Secretary J&K sports Council Mrs Nuzhat Gul, Mr. muzaffar Hussain (DSO,K), Shri Atul pangotra (International Referee/ Coach/ Player), Mr. Nisar Hussain (Vice President, JKTA) for providing this level of platform where players can prove their potential.
Heading the championship were Aquib Gulzar (Taekwondo coach) Other notable individuals who played vital roles in the event were Mr. Rameez Ahmad (Coach Wushu), Sadia Hussain (Volleyball coach), Asif Farooq (badminton coach), suhail ahmad ganie( Taekwondo coach), syed Taha (Taekwondo coach).
Khelo India taekwondo centre shopian lifted the overall championship trophy of District Shopian Taekwondo Championship 2023-24.
All the medalists from the District Shopian Taekwondo Championship 2023-24 will proudly represent District Shopian in the upcoming 26th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships in 2023.
