SRINAGAR: Three persons were injured after a fire broke out in the Pandan area of Nowhatta in Srinagar on Thursday, causing damage to three residential houses, officials said.

Officials said that another burn-injured person was brought to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, after sustaining multiple burn injuries in the incident. He has been identified as Javid Ahmad Nun (45), son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Gurez, presently staying at Pandan Nowhatta. His condition is stated to be stable.

Earlier, one injured person, Mohammad Sultan Lone (58), son of Mohammad Munawar, also a resident of Gurez and presently living in a tent at Pandan Nowhatta, was admitted to SMHS Hospital for treatment while another person was injured whose identification was not known immediately.

He said the fire damaged three residential houses in the area. Firefighting operations were launched promptly, while the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. (KNC)
