SRINAGAR: At least, six individuals suspected of being Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were apprehended on Wednesday in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area here.
Srinagar based news agency News Vibes of India—(NVI) quoted top police officer as saying that the arrests were made during a coordinated operation by joint security forces, including the CRPF, police, and Army.
He added that the suspects were detained at a checkpoint in Qazigund following specific intelligence inputs; however, their identities have not been released by the authorities.
Moreover, security forces recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition from the suspects, including one pistol, two pistol magazines, 28 pistol rounds, three hand grenades, and 35 AK-47 rounds.
An FIR has also been filed at the Qazigund Police Station under relevant sections, and more details are awaited.
