SHOPIAN: In a swift and efficient operation, Shopian Police successfully solved a theft case within 24 hours of its reporting, demonstrating their commitment to prompt investigation and action against crime.
According to officials, a case (FIR No. 31/2025) was registered at Police Station Imamsahab following a written complaint by Nazir Ahmad Ganai, a resident of DK Pora, who reported that several apple crates had been stolen from his premises during the intervening night.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, police constituted a special team that conducted a meticulous investigation using both technical and human intelligence inputs. The efforts led to the identification and arrest of two accused persons involved in the theft:
- Mohd Altaf Bakshi, son of Mohd Afzal Bakshi, resident of Rambirpora, Kehribal Mattan, Anantnag.
- Adil Gulzar Ganie, son of Gulzar Ahmad Ganie, resident of Chee, Anantnag.
During the investigation, police recovered the stolen apple crates along with the auto load carrier used in the commission of the crime from the possession of the accused.
