SRINAGAR: Former minister and senior political leader Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that all schools and colleges across Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed tomorrow, August 28, 2025, in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Itoo stated that the step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students amid the continuous spell of rain and adverse weather forecast.
Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing widespread rainfall over the past few days, leading to waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption of normal life. The Meteorological Department has also predicted more showers and thundershowers at several places during the next 24 hours.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, while people have been advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas.
