Srinagar: In a major political development, cleric Sarjan Barkati is set to tender his nomination papers from the Ganderbal assembly segment, bringing the two in direct contest with each other said sources.
As learnt, Barkati’s family is done with all the necessary formalities and may at any time tender the nomination from the central Kashmir seat.
If at all the nomination papers of the religious cleric are through, it can potentially force the contesting into a fierce campaigning on the strategic segment.
Notably, the nomination of Sarjan Barkati was recently rejected after authorities found the papers’ deficient of ‘oath certificate’.
