Ganderbal: The Police Training School (PTS) Manigam on Thursday held a one-day workshop aimed at strengthening the understanding of behavioral forensics among police personnel. The programme forms part of an ongoing effort to integrate scientific and academic insights into everyday policing and investigative work.

The event was organised under the guidance of PTS Principal Zubair Ahmad Khan (SSP) and brought together experts from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), and the Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir (CUK).

During the session, Dr. Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Senior Assistant Professor and Legal Advisor at CUK, offered detailed perspectives on the subject, while Farooq Ahmad Mir delivered the welcome address.

Dr. Mahesh A. Tripathi, Acting Director of the J&K RRU Campus, and Dr. Mohammad Akmal Shah, Clinical Psychologist, shared their expertise, highlighting the growing relevance of behavioral analysis in modern investigative practices on the ocassion.

Inspector Mudasir Hamid presented the vote of thanks on behalf of the Principal, acknowledging the participation and support of all contributors.

Officials said the workshop reflects a broader push to build forensic skills within the police system by fostering collaboration with academic institutions. The training, they added, is expected to support more scientific methods in crime investigation and contribute to improved justice delivery.
