Budgam: On 15/07/2022, Police Station Khansahib received information about a motorcycle bearing registration No. PB09M-2124 driven by one Mohammad Ismail Lone son of Irshad Ahmed Lone alongwith 02 pillion riders namely Mohammad Yousuf Lone son of Manzoor Ahmed Lone, Mushtaq Ahmed Lone son of Ghulam Qadir Lone all residents of Sitharan Khag have been hit by an unknown vehicle near Jamia Masjid Arizal and the driver alongwith the vehicle has fled away from the Spot.
Meanwhile, the injured persons were shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for further treatment. However, unfortunately 02 injured namely Mohammad Yousuf and Mohammad Ismail succumbed to their injuries at SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
Accordingly, a Case FIR number 119/2022 under section 279,337-IPC was registered in Police Station Khansahib and investigation taken up.
During investigation, the police team of Police Station Khansahib put forth all the efforts to identify and arrest the driver involved in the commission of the crime. Various suspects were summoned and questioned and some analysis was also done which led to some clues. Finally after strenuous efforts, the Police team recovered the suspected vehicle bearing Registration number JK04A 0678 from an agriculture field in village Arizal. One Irshad Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Rashid Khan R/o Checkmarg Hardpanzoo was produced before Police station Khansahib by President Sumo Stand Arizal namely Fayaz Ahmad War S/o Abdul Aziz War R/o Arizal and brother of owner of the Vehicle (Tata Sumo) namely Mehraj Ahmad Khan S/o Mohammad Maqbool Khan R/o Check-e-Marg claiming him to be the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, during questioning, it came to fore that one Shakeel Ahmad Khan S/o Abdul Rashid Khan R/o Checkmarg Hardpanzoo (who doesn’t possess a driving licence) was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
The actual driver happens to be the brother of the impersonating driver produced by President Sumo Stand and brother of owner of the involved vehicle. The trio had hatched a conspiracy to save the actual driver from legal action owing to his non possession of driving licence.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and the two cheaters and impersonator driver were booked and arrested in the instant Hit and Run case under sections 304-A, 229, 337, 205, 417, 177-IPC and 3/181, 190(2), 146, 196 MV Act.
