SRINAGAR: The District Development Council (DDC) Shopian on Wednesday approved the District Capex Plan 2025–26, finalising developmental works worth Rs 999 lakh under the Area Development Budget. The plan includes over 900 projects across the district, aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and service delivery.
The meeting, held at the Mini Secretariat Shopian, brought together DDC members, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Executive Engineer REW, Block Development Officers from various blocks, and other sectoral officers.
During the session, council members engaged in detailed discussions on the sector-wise allocation of funds and developmental priorities. Elected representatives from across the district raised key infrastructure and service-related concerns from their constituencies, offering suggestions to enhance departmental performance and responsiveness.
Following extensive deliberations, the council gave unanimous approval to the Area Development Plan. The ₹9.99 crore allocation is expected to fund a wide range of works, covering rural infrastructure, connectivity, and public utility services, with the aim of accelerating grassroots-level development in the district.
The DDC also stressed close monitoring to ensure effective utilisation of funds and impact on the ground.
