JAMMU: A man attacked his family in the Ramnagar area of Udhampur district on Monday, resulting in the death of one family member and two others sustaining injuries.
Quoting sources, local news agency NVI reported that the incident occurred in Kiya Panchayat of Ramnagar tehsil, where the man attacked his family members with a sharp weapon. The attack led to the death of his mother-in-law, while his wife and sister-in-law suffered critical injuries.
According to initial reports, the mother-in-law succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The injured women were rushed to a nearby hospital in Ramnagar for immediate treatment and later referred to the District Hospital Udhampur for further care.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the motive behind the attack yet to be established.
