In pursuance of the National Legal Service Authority calendar and under the directions of J &K Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat was organized in District Court Complex Shopian with the efforts of Secretary/Sub-Judge, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian, Mr. Feroz Ahmad Khan.
Four ( 04 ) benches were constituted out of which 03 benches were constituted for holding of National Lok Adalat at District Headquarters & one bench at Tehsil office Shopian.
All these benches were assisted by the Panel Lawyers and PLVs of their respective jurisdiction.
162 cases of different nature including Criminal compoundable Cases, Matrimonial, Maintenance, Cheque Bounce, Civil, Revenue, Labour dispute, bank recovery, MACT, Litigation and Pre-Litigation were taken up before these 04 benches out of which 141 cases were amicably settled and an amount of Rs.1962257/- was realized.
