Srinagar: On the sixth anniversary of the Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid heartfelt tributes to the 40 CRPF personnel who were martyred in the tragic attack on February 14, 2019.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi remembered the fallen soldiers, stating, “Homage to the courageous heroes we lost in Pulwama in 2019. The coming generations will never forget their sacrifice and unwavering dedication to the nation.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the brave soldiers, reflecting on the gravity of the attack. In his post, Shah termed militancy as the “biggest” enemy of humanity. “साल 2019 में आज के ही दिन पुलवामा में हुए कायराना आतंकी हमले में वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए जवानों को कृतज्ञ राष्ट्र की ओर से भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता हूँ। आतंकवाद समूची मानव जाति का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन है और इसके खिलाफ पूरी दुनिया संगठित हो चुकी है। चाहे सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक हो या एयर स्ट्राइक, मोदी सरकार आतंकवादियों के खिलाफ ‘जीरो टॉलरेंस’ की नीति से अभियान चलाकर उनके समूल नाश के लिए संकल्पित है। (On behalf of the grateful nation, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who were martyred in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama on this day in the year 2019. Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha also shared a tribute, recognizing the soldiers’ sacrifice. The official statement from the LG’s office read, “Heartfelt tribute to the courageous martyrs of the heinous Pulwama attack of 2019. Their supreme sacrifice in the service of the motherland will forever be remembered. The courage and selfless commitment of our gallant heroes will continue to inspire generations.”

On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred, and several others were injured in an IED attack by terrorists in Awantipora, Pulwama. The attack remains one of the most significant and tragic acts of violence in recent years.
