KULGAM: The Kulgam Police once again proved their commitment and dedication towards public safety by playing a vital role during the recent spell of heavy rains in the in J&K.
On Monday evening, the Police Post Frisal swiftly came into action and rescued several nomadic families residing near “Sonnan” in Kujar, who were in danger due to rising water levels. The affected families were shifted to safer locations. Throughout the night, the police made repeated announcements on mosque loudspeakers, assuring the public of immediate help in case of any emergency and asking people to remain alert.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Police Post Frisal received a distress call regarding a pregnant woman in N. Batpora who was in urgent need of medical attention. Without wasting any time, a police team rushed to the spot and successfully rescued the woman, ensuring she was shifted to safety.
The timely and humanitarian efforts of the police have been widely appreciated by the local population. The general public hailed the dedicated role of the Kulgam Police, particularly the Police Post Frisal, for standing by the community in this tough time.
Meanwhile, the police have appealed to the people to stay away from streams, rivers, and flood-prone areas during this rainy spell and to immediately contact the nearest police unit in case of any emergency.
