SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled shutdowns across multiple districts of Kashmir valley next week, affecting power supply to large parts of Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag and Shopian for maintenance and upgradation works.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), a shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam SIDCO and Budgam Ichgam lines will disrupt electricity to Budgam town, Ompora, Ichgam, Jawalapora, Choon, Kanir and adjoining areas on December 8, from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. The same day, the 33 kV Ahmadpora–Magam line will also remain off, impacting Magam, Mazhama, Aripanthan and nearby villages from 10 am to 3.30 pm.
A shutdown of the 132 kV IRCON–Budgam transmission line and associated 33 kV feeders is also scheduled for December 8, again affecting power supply to Budgam, Ompora, Housing Colony, Nasrullahpora and several surrounding areas during the same hours.
On December 9, the 33 kV Amargarh–Watergam and Sheeri–Baramulla lines will remain shut from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm, cutting power to Watergam, Kralgund, Baramulla town, Kanlibagh, Khanpora and adjacent localities. The 33 kV Wanpoh–SICOP line will also be off the same day, affecting Bijbehara, Veeri, Srigufwara and nearby villages from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Additionally, the 33 kV Sangam New Tap line will be shut from 11 am to 2 pm, impacting areas of Sangam and Bijbehara.
The Dandipora receiving station will remain non-operational on December 8, affecting Larnoo, Vailoo and Dandipora from 9 am to 3.30 pm, while the 33 kV Khiram Tap line will be shut on 11 December, disrupting supply to Khiram, Mahind and Sirhama.
Further, the 33 kV Lassipora–Landoora and Lassipora–Reshipora lines in Shopian will undergo shutdowns on December 9,13 and 16, affecting Landoora, Zainapora, Chitragam, Sugan and several adjoining villages from 10 am to 3 pm.
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to plan accordingly. -(KL)
