SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Tuesday announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts between December 11 and 17, citing essential maintenance works.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the 33 kV Wanpoh–SICOP line will remain shut on December 11 and 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., affecting Bijbehara, Shamsipora, Veeri, Nowbugh, Guree, Kanelwan, Srigufwara, Cheeniwooder and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Khiram Tap line will be shut on December 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., impacting Khiram, Mahind, Sirhama, Shalgul, Nowhara and nearby localities.

The department also announced a shutdown of the 33 kV Kulgam–Devsar line on  December 11, 14 and 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., affecting Devsar, Pahloo, Sopat, Akhal, Hablish, Kilam, Malwan, Chamgund, Ariutno, Kanchewa, Ashmuji and surrounding areas.

A shutdown of the 33 kV Seelu Tap and Sidiq Colony Tap lines on December 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will affect Seelu, Bomai, Brath, Shangergund, Model Town, Kapra, Noorbagh, Essential and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Amargarh–Bandipora line will remain shut on December 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., impacting Watlab, Dooru, Tujjar, Hathlangoo, Botingoo, Warpora, Khunsa and nearby areas.

The 33 kV Amargarh–Sopore line will also be shut on December 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., affecting Court Road, Hospital area, Noorbagh, Badamibagh and adjoining localities.

KPDCL has advised consumers to plan accordingly and has assured that restoration will follow immediately after completion of maintenance work. -(KL)
