SHOPIAN: The District Shopian Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2025–26 concluded successfully today at the Sports Stadium Batapora, Shopian, witnessing energetic performances and remarkable sportsmanship across all categories. The event successfully showcased the growing sports culture in the district with strong competition among senior men, junior boys, and girls’ teams.
The championship’s closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, SSP Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, attended as the Chief Guest, while, Mohd Ashraf, DYSP DAR Shopian, Principal, GDC Shopian, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Shafiq, was the Guest of Honour, accompanied by Incharge Sports Stadium Batapora Shopian, Mr. Gh. Rasool Khanday. Their presence added significant motivation and encouragement to the participating teams.
In the highly anticipated Senior Men Category, Killora Kings emerged as the champions, defeating Arshipora Strikers, who finished as the runner-up.
The Junior Boys Category title was claimed by Reshinagri Shining Stars, with Thunder Strikers taking the runner-up position.
In the Girls Category, Shopian Royal Club secured the victory, overcoming Shopian Warriors in the final match.
The event concluded with appreciation for all participating teams, coaches, and officials for their hard work in making the championship a grand success. The organizers extended gratitude to the district administration and sports authorities for their continuous support in promoting sports in Shopian.
