BANDIPORA: An elderly man died after sustaining critical injuries when a tree fell on him at his residence in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, officials said.
According to hospital sources, the injured person was brought to SMHS Hospital Srinagar by his family members after being referred from District Hospital Bandipora. However, doctors at SMHS Hospital declared him brought dead.
As per the statement of the attendants, the incident occurred at the victim’s residence during the cutting of trees, when a tree accidentally fell on him, causing grievous injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rashid Khan, son of late Khani Zamaan Khan, resident of Shug Baba Sumlar area of Bandipora. He was around 70 years of age.
Officials said necessary medico-legal formalities were completed at the hospital. [KNT]
