SRINAGAR: In a significant security preparedness move, Jammu and Kashmir among several border states across the country will witness mock drill on May 29 (Thursday), as part of Operation Sindoor.
The directive comes underscoring the commitment to readiness amid growing regional concerns in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.
The drill is being carried out as a precautionary measure due to heightened tensions with Pakistan and lack of trust in that nation’s intent.
The authorities have said that the entire administration, including disaster management teams and law enforcement agencies, is on high alert and fully prepared to participate.
The drill will simulate emergency response scenarios such as airspace threats, cross-border intrusions, and urban evacuation protocols. Local authorities have urged citizens not to panic and to cooperate with officials during the exercise.
