SAMBA: Police in Samba have apprehended three accused, including two juveniles, in connection with an assault case registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana. A sharp-edged weapon was recovered and the vehicle used in the offence was seized, officials said on Thursday.

The officials said that the case dates back to December 23 when one Bunty, son of Rattan Lal and a resident of Rajeev Colony, Bari Brahmana, lodged a complaint stating that his nephew was attacked by unknown persons with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in grievous injuries.

“On the basis of the complaint, FIR No. 212 of 2025 was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 352 and 191(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act,” said the officials, adding an investigation was taken up immediately.

During the investigation, a police team conducted multiple raids and arrested Mohit Kumar, son of Jeet Raj, a resident of R S Pura in Jammu district. Two juveniles involved in the incident were also apprehended.

“On the disclosure of the accused, police recovered the weapon of offence, identified as a toka. A Hyundai i20 car bearing registration number JK21C-7354, allegedly used in the commission of the crime, was also seized,” said the officials.

“Further investigation in the case is underway,” added the officials. (GNS)
