SRINAGAR: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has rescheduled admission tests for students from Jammu and Kashmir, which were originally set for May 10–11, 2025. The decision was taken following a request from the Jammu and Kashmir Government in view of the prevailing situation in the region.
JK Education Minister, Sakina Itoo, confirmed the development on X: “Considering the ongoing situation, Jamia Millia Islamia will reschedule the admission test for students from Jammu and Kashmir at the request of the J&K Government. I thank the university administration for understanding the current challenges faced by the students of J&K.”
Jamia’s admission tests for the 2025–26 academic session began on April 26 and are scheduled to continue until May 31. Tests for several programmes were set to take place on May 10 and 11, but those specific to students from Jammu and Kashmir will now be held on revised dates.
The university clarified that tests for students from other regions scheduled for May 10–11 will proceed as planned.
