SRINAGAR: IndiGo has processed refunds amounting to Rs 610 crore for cancelled or severely delayed flights and delivered 3,000 pieces of stranded baggage to passengers across the country, the government said on Sunday, according to India Today.

Officials stated that the aviation network is rapidly returning to normal, with corrective measures to remain in force until operations are fully stabilised. The government had on Saturday instructed IndiGo to complete all pending refunds by Sunday evening and ensure that baggage separated from travellers is traced and delivered within 48 hours.

In a statement cited by India Today, the civil aviation ministry said no additional fees may be charged for rescheduling travel disrupted by cancellations. It noted that IndiGo has set up dedicated support cells to assist passengers, ensuring swift resolution of refund and rebooking issues.

The ministry added that domestic air travel operations are stabilising quickly following the disruption triggered by IndiGo’s operational crisis. While other domestic carriers are operating at full capacity, IndiGo’s performance has improved steadily, with flight operations increasing from 706 on Friday to 1,565 on Saturday, and expected to reach around 1,650 by Sunday evening.

The government also confirmed that IndiGo has delivered 3,000 pieces of baggage to passengers across India as part of its ongoing recovery efforts.
