POONCH: Demonstrating swift humanitarian assistance, the Indian Army repaired a damaged foot bridge in the remote Mandi-Chakrara area of Poonch district within just four hours, restoring vital connectivity and bringing major relief to local residents.

The foot bridge was damaged during a recent windstorm, disrupting movement for villagers and causing difficulties for students, elderly residents, and daily commuters who rely on the structure for access to nearby areas.

Acting promptly after receiving information about the damage, troops of the 6th Battalion, The Rajput Regiment (Doda Battalion) under the 93 Infantry Brigade, Poonch, launched immediate repair operations. Through coordinated efforts, Army personnel successfully restored the bridge within four hours, ensuring the resumption of normal movement and transportation in the area.

The bridge serves as a crucial lifeline for several villages in the region, and its restoration has significantly eased the hardships faced by local residents.
